Evolving to a New ERP System

We are pleased to announce the planned 2 July 2018 deployment of Bio-Rad's SAP® Enterprise Resource Planning System to our subsidiaries in the following countries:

Organizational Changes

Due to the restructuring of our European operations, the Bio-Rad company that you currently purchase and receive invoices from may change. When you place an order our system will automatically route it to the applicable Bio-Rad company(ies) for fulfillment. As it may not be the same Bio-Rad company you purchased from in the past, please follow the instructions for payment stated on each invoice.

Order fulfillment is determined by specific customer location and products ordered, so please refer to each financial invoice to identify:

  • Applicable Bio-Rad company name
  • Value added tax number and payment information
  • Bank details
  • Contact information for your orders
  • Contact information for your payment remittance

Product Ordering, Delivery, and Payment Changes

Customer Ordering

  • Customer Account Numbers
    Your new account number will be displayed on your order confirmation and invoice documentation. Please update your systems with this new number and use it when placing subsequent orders.
  • Standing Orders
    Please contact your Customer Care or Sales Representative to determine the best way to plan upcoming orders to minimize any disruption as a result of the planned shipping freeze.

Product Delivery

  • Packaging Changes
    Packaging requirements are system-directed based on characteristics like product dimensions and temperature controls, so it is likely that the size and number of packages for your shipments will change. We will do our best to combine products whenever possible to minimise any environmental impact.
  • Shipping Freeze - A temporary shipping freeze is scheduled to start:
    • 26 June - 2 July 2018 - Nordic and Portugal locations
    • 27 June - 2 July 2018 - Spain locations
    • 28 June - 2 July 2018 - Italy and Greece locations and Immunohematology customers (ex-DiaMed) in Great Britain

You may still place orders during this period but no shipments will be delivered. Shipments will gradually resume during the week of 2 July 2018; please plan for slower delivery timeframes during this transition period.

Shipment delays for PrimePCR (including ddPCR) Assays ordered between June 18th – July 1st, 2018: To more efficiently serve our customers’ needs, we are upgrading our systems in your region between June 18th and July 1st, 2018. During this time, we will be accepting orders for PrimePCR Assays (including ddPCR Assays); however, the processing and shipment of these products may be delayed for up to two weeks. Thank you for your patience during this transition.

Due to an upgrade in our business system, Bio-Plex® x-Plex and Express orders placed between May 14 to June 7 will experience a two-week delay in delivery. We will be unable to accept requests for new configurations from June 8 to June 14 and again from June 28 to July 2. Normal service resumes on July 3, 2018.

Our advice is to order up to 1 month of safety stock and if you have standing orders with us, bring your July orders forward into May for delivery to you before the end of June.

Your Customer Service Team or Account Manager would be happy to help and advise on how best to schedule your upcoming orders to minimize any disruption to your business operations.

Simplifying Our Distribution Network

We are updating and centralising product shipments from our two distribution hubs in Europe. The simplification of our current distribution network will improve our logistic performance by giving better inventory availability and delivery capabilities.

Effective 2 July 2018

All large instrument (>25 kg) and spare parts will be shipped from our Leipzig, Germany warehouse. In addition, the following customers will be serviced from this warehouse for all products:
  • Denmark
  • Finland
  • Greece
  • Italy
  • Sweden

With the exception of large instruments (>25 kg) and spare parts (see bullet above re: distribution of these products from Leipzig, Germany), the following customers will be serviced from our distribution center in Mitry Mory, France:

EMEA Service Repair Centre

Bio-Rad offers on-site and service centre repairs making it easy for you to choose the best solution for your needs. From our centralised service repair centre in Leipzig, Germany, we deliver an enhanced customer experience for in-house instrument service repairs. With improved availability of loaner systems and quicker turnaround times, our aim is to help you maintain your productivity. We ensure high-quality repairs — no one can take better care of your Bio-Rad equipment than our factory-trained Bio-Rad engineers.

We have centralised the Finance function across Europe to provide a single Finance point of contact for our European customers. This means new contact details for our Finance teams, with a centralised address for payment remittances and other Financial/Banking related communications, and a new email address and telephone number. This contact and payment information may need to be updated in your ERP system or other documents.

Important reminder: The Bio-Rad company that you currently purchase and receive invoices from may change.
